Ying holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Wellesley College and an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Virginia. She has native fluency in written and spoken Chinese. After earning her degrees, she worked in China for two years as a researcher for an American newspaper and seven years as an interpreter/translator in the personal development field. She also spoke Tibetan and worked in Tibet for two years as the project coordinator for University Virginia’s Tibetan and Himalayan Digital Library project. She enjoys traveling and has traveled to 24 countries around the world. She is currently working a yoga teacher/yoga therapist, alternative healing practitioner, and life coach.

What she loves about teaching is the opportunity to inspire and be inspired. She believes the process of teaching and learning is a co-creative process, where the teacher becomes a catalyst for the student to discover their own wisdom and potentials.
